Indicative Syllabus for Written Examination
(a) General Knowledge : Question may be designed to test knowledge of current events relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Science, General Policy & Scientific Research.
(b) Mathematics : Matric level questions on Number System, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry and Statistical Charts.
(c) Science : Matric level questions on Physical and Chemical Substances – nature and Behaviour, World of Living, Natural Phenomenon, Effects of Current and Natural Resources.
(d) Social Science : Matric level questions on India and the Contemporary World Democratic Politics, Understanding Economic Development and Disaster Management.
ICAR IARI Technician (T-1) Exam Pattern
The scheme and syllabus of the examination are given in the rules of the examination for the respective posts. The Question Paper will be set in English & Hindi only.
In case of any difference/discrepancy/dispute in the questions between English and Hindi, the content of English version shall prevail.
- Computer Based Test/Examination shall consist of Objective Type 100 Questions with 4 multiple choice answers out of which candidate has to choose one correct answer only.
- Each question carries one mark. For each wrong answer ¼ (0.25) mark shall be deducted.
- Qualifying marks in written test/CBT is prescribed as 40% for UR, 30% for SC/OBC-NCL/EWS and 25% for ST.
(a) Examination will be of 100 marks consisting of Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions
and the duration will be of one and half hours. There will be four subjects carrying 25 marks for
each of the following subjects as per the following scheme: –

(b) The question papers will be prepared bilingually, in English & Hindi for Sections 1, 2, 3 & 4.
(c) The question paper will be common for all the functional groups in which the recruitment is proposed to be made.
(d) There will be no interview for the posts of Technician (T-1).

Document / Certificate Verification
Bringing much cheer to candidates, who have passed the ICAR IARI Technician (T-1) exam and plan to get the exam verify their qualification certificates before attending job interviews, an official release has stated that from now onwards candidates can avail the service online instead of spending valuable time at government offices. A candidate who has applied to the Commission on a previous occasion should produce the required documents even though they might have produced the same on a previous occasion and were returned to him. The Original Certificates in support of the claims made in the on-line application, should be produced at the time of the Certificate Verification – Oral Test or when called for by the Commission. One set of xerox copies of all certificates along with a copy of photograph identical to the one that was submitted in the application, should also be handed over while attending the Certificate Verification – Oral Test.
