Southern Railway Apprentice Merit List 2021
The selection will be on the basis of Merit List prepared in respect of all the eligible candidates who apply against the Notification. The Merit List will be prepared by the Committee nominated for this purpose by following the procedure mentioned as under;
a) Fresher Category :- Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.
b) Ex.ITI :- Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 100 marks ( duly ensuring Minimum 50% marks in aggregate) + ITI marks duly converted to 100. Total marks put together will be calculated for 200 marks and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks giving equal weight age to both.
c) MLT :- Marks obtained in Higher Secondary (with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology) will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.
For candidates possessing Xth through General Education Department, Government of Kerala the grades are classified on nine-point scale. Administration will take midpoint of range of grades obtained by the candidates. After obtaining midpoints of all the attempted subjects according to grades awarded, percentage will be calculated treating each subject is out of 100 marks as there is no standard method or multiplying factor for calculation of average of matriculation for such Boards.
d) For SC/ST and PwBD ( PH quota) candidates the minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate in Matriculation is not insisted upon)
e) In case of two candidates having the same marks, the older candidate will be preferred. In case the dates of birth are also same, then the candidate who has passed Matriculation Examination earlier will be considered.
Document Verification
Original transfer certificate for completion of qualifying examination (Std. X/XII/ITI) must be produced during document verification.

Southern Railway SR Apprentices Shortlisted Candidates List
The Southern Railway Apprentice Selection List 2021 are prepared from the candidates education qualification based on the studies like Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10, +2 System of
education or its equivalent. Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology ) Should have passed 12th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10, +2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and other streams. Minimum 50% marks in SSLC not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates. Course Completed Act Apprentices, Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are NOT eligible to apply.
Candidates who want to avail the benefit of reservation must produce a Disability certificate issued by Competent Authority (i.e Medical Board constituted by the Central or State Government). The disability of the candidates should not be less than 40%.

- The SR Apprentice Result for Apprentice Posts pdf opens in the new tab.
- Check your Id number, name of the candidate, father’s name from the result.
- Study the instructions given on the result pdf and proceed for the next round.
Selection Methods
Standard of Physical Fitness/Medical Examination:
Shortlisted candidates should produce Medical certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed format as per Apprentice Act 1961 and Para 4 of Apprenticeship Rules 1992 (as amended time to time).
The Medical certificates should be signed by Government Authorized Doctor (Gaz.) notbelow the rank of Asst.Surgeon of Central/State Government Hospital in terms RailwayBoard’s letter no E(MPP)/2009/6/14 dated 04.12.2018.
Communication from Official Board
All communication from the Administration will be sent by SMS or e-mail only and selected/Eligible candidates list will be uploaded in Southern Railway Website. Candidates should maintain the same mobile number & e-mail ID till the selection is completed and Administration will not be responsible for non-receipt of communication due to change in mobile number or e-mail ID.
